Glasgow and South Western Railway Association

Welcome to the Glasgow & South Western Railway Association. We were founded in 1964 as a volunteer society whose aims were to preserve information about the railway company from its earliest days and promote the memory of its operations, trains and infrastructure.  Aspects of the LMS Railway and the British Railways steam era up to 1967 are included where relevant.

The Association is a Registered Educational Charity SC046766.

For a modest subscription of £15 (GBP 15.00) we offer:

An A5 annual journal of around 50 pages

An A4 quarterly newsletter usually 12 pages

An archive service based at Kilmarnock station and by e-mail

Access to 4 - 5 meetings with talks; these for many years were public hall based in Paisley but since the 2020-22 pandemic have been online by Zoom, which avoids the need to travel.

Please browse the website, and if you would like to join us, the joining form follows. Further pages will be added in due course.

GBP 4.00. is added for overseas members to offset postal costs.
