The Archives of the Glasgow and South Western Railway Association

Over the years the Association has build up an enviable collection of original records and artifacts, supplemented by relevant reference works. The Association has been extremely fortunate to gain a dedicated space in the part of the station buildings managed by the Kilmarnock Station Railway Heritage Trust as an archive room. This facility means that members and the public can visit the archive and use its resources. Kilmarnock Works, located in the angle between the Troon and Dalry lines, just north of Kilmarnock station was the engineering centre for the Sou-West so it is appropriate that so many of the records have returned near to where they were created or used. Our most recent acquisition (on loan) is a parcels weighing machine and Stuart will be pleased to assist any visitors who are convinced their bathroom scales lie. KSRHT is a community hub and have made spaces available for a variety of organisations and small enterprises. This link takes you to the page about our archive, but please explore the site further to see the benefits of a visit.                              Link to KSRHT
